Temple University

As adjunct faculty and Artist-in-Residence at Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance, I seek to bring joy and creativity into the college community through my teaching. I want students of all ages, backgrounds, and identities to feel the rush and adrenaline of learning a new skill and discovering how music fits into their lives. I want them to walk away happier, healthier, seen, and more whole. My studio at Temple is open to all students who are looking to better their skills in flute playing. We explore repertoire from the standard flute canon along with works recently published and works by living composers. Our studio is filled with music education, music therapy, music business, and jazz majors from all across the state and the country. While I don’t teach jazz flute, I teach a lot of jazz players who are looking to improve their doubling skills. Coming from one of the top jazz departments in the country, these Temple students provide a unique perspective and a host of high-level skills to our studio, enriching it with their presence.

I know many of my students will go on to be educators themselves, so I seek to help them have the experience in their lessons and studio classes that they can build off of in their own classrooms and studios. If you’re interested in studying with me at Temple, please see our admissions page here. You can also reach out to me through this website or contact me at anna.meyer (a) temple.edu.
